House of Harrop

House of Harrop was born on the banks of the Henry's Fork in 1968. Formed as a small fly tying business by Rene' and Bonnie Harrop, the company has operated from their home since that time. Daughter Leslie and son Shayne learned to tie flies as small children and were working in the business by the time they were teenagers. Always a fly fishing family, the Harrops have applied unique insight gained from decades of experience on the great waters of the Rocky Mountain West. Surviving as working fly tyers has always been dependent upon observation, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to quality. Once an industry dominated by great individual tyers, the vast majority of flies being fished in this country and around the world are mass produced in factories far removed from the realities of the modern angler. The Harrop family is proud to continue among the last of the true American professionals.
