Capt. Mark has 45 years of experience in the marine industry. Working in marinas and around boats from an early age in a family-owned business, he first went to sea as Ordinary Seaman in 1978 aboard LNG tankers in the Far East. Sailing on a variety of container ships, tankers and an ATT cable ship, he sailed worldwide over the course of 30 years.
In 1999 he got his first billet as Chief Officer and delivered World Food Program USAID food aid to Africa and other Third World nations. Three years later, he was promoted to Captain and continued in the relief aid industry for the next 10 years. During that time, in 2001 he attained a license as Unlimited Master Any Oceans.

Capt. Mark occasionally worked aboard tugboats in New York Harbor and along the East Coast and at various New Jersey Shore marinas (Harborside Marine for 14 years). He attended college between tours, graduating with a BS Degree in Business Management from Rutgers University in 1995.

Today, upon retirement from deep sea sailing in 2013 and after attending the Chapman School of Seamanship Marine Surveying Yacht and Small Craft Course, Capt. Mark returned home to work with the Case McDaniel Marine Group (formerly RT Associates). After the devastation Hurricane Sandy dealt to the marine industry, he processed hundreds of damage claims. The Case McDaniel Marine Group has been a recognized name in marine surveying for over 40 years. Together, its three associates have a 100 years of combined experience in the marine industry.
