“This is the second boat that Custom Canvas has done for us. They have redone the upholstery on my 320 Sundancer and my 2860 Sailfish. Both came out great. They are very busy so things never get done as quick as I want them to, but they managed my expectations and did a great job. Chris brought great ideas that we had not thought about and worked with us each step to get exactly what we wanted. Also had a Shower curtain made for around the T-Top and it fits perfect.“

Boat Canvas Repair FAQs

What does a boat canvas repair service include?

Boat canvas repair services typically include stitching torn seams, patching holes, replacing zippers, snaps, and straps, re-sewing clear vinyl panels, and reinforcing worn areas. The goal is to extend the life of your existing canvas and restore its function and appearance.

What types of canvas can be repaired?

Marine professionals can repair a wide variety of canvas items, including bimini tops, enclosures, mooring covers, cockpit covers, spray shields, and T-top canvas. Even older or custom canvas can often be repaired, depending on the material condition.

How do I get a quote for boat canvas repair through Boat Planet?

Submit a request on Boat Planet with details about the damaged canvas, your boat’s make and model, and the type of repair needed. Uploading photos of the damage is highly recommended. Local canvas pros will respond with quotes and repair options.

Do canvas repair pros come to my boat, or do I need to bring the canvas to them?

Minor repairs may be done on-site, but most boat canvas repair pros will require you to bring the canvas piece(s) to their shop. If you’re not sure how to remove it, some mobile pros can come out and remove and reinstall the canvas for you.

How long does a canvas repair take?

Simple repairs like re-stitching seams or replacing a zipper may take 1–3 days. More involved repairs or jobs requiring special materials may take up to a week or more. Your pro will give you a timeline after assessing the canvas.

Is it better to repair or replace my boat canvas?

If your canvas is generally in good condition and the damage is limited to small tears, loose seams, or broken hardware, repair is a great option. If the fabric is sun-damaged, dry-rotted, or shrunken, replacement may be more cost-effective in the long run. A canvas pro can help you decide.

How much does boat canvas repair cost?

Costs vary depending on the size of the repair and the materials involved. Small repairs might cost $50–$150, while larger or more complex repairs could range from $200–$500+. On Boat Planet, you can request up to three quotes from local pros to compare.

What should I do to prepare for a boat canvas repair appointment?

If you're bringing the canvas in, remove it from the boat and clean off any dirt or mildew if possible. For mobile appointments, make sure your boat is accessible and notify the pro of any gate or dock codes. Photos and detailed descriptions of the damage will help speed up the process.
