Founded in 1973 by Nick Hake, Seaward sailboats have been built for more than 40 years and remain at the forefront of the industry. Seaward was created on the principles of solid construction melded to modern design and technology, strong customer relationships and innovation that continually betters the sailing and boat owning experience. Today, the Seawards are being built in Largo, Florida at the Island Packet Yacht facility. The factory team consists of a group of committed craftsmen with an average of 24 years of service per employee. We build entirely in the WEST (Wood Epoxy Saturation Technique) method for logevity and low upkeep. Framework and outer planking are of the finest pattern grade Honduras mahogany. Inner planking is African (Okoume) mahogany imported from France. Construction time averages twelve months for runabouts and 1 1/2 to 2 years for larger boats. All painted surfaces are sheathed with Dynel cloth, which is 6 times more abrasive-resistent than fiberglass.Hugh Saint custom wooden boats have convex sectioned underbodies for a very soft and safe ride. Our special rudders provide excellent handling qualities at all speeds.
