Riggsville, Georgetown, Maine has enjoyed a long and rich history of settlement, marine commerce and boatbuilding. One of the most prominent men who ever lived in old Georgetown was Benjamin Riggs. In the late 1700s Benjamin built a log cabin next to what is today the site of Derecktor Robinhood and shortly after settling here built a store on the waterfront. The log cabin is gone, but the store remains and is now our Old Rigging Shop Studio, circa 1790. The studio today houses a good deal of early history of the site and village.

Robinhood Marine has been constructing high-quality custom yachts continuously since 1950. Our marina facility has 135 slips and 72 moorings, and our service yard accommodates sail and power vessels up to 55 feet. We offer Yacht Rigging, Diesel & Gas Engine Repair, Full Machine Shop & TIG Welding, Electronic Sales & Service, Awlgrip & Varnish Refinishing and Wood & Fiberglass Repair and now we’re builders and home to the Island 40 (www.island40.com) houseboat rental fleet.
