Welcome to Nelson Boatyard located in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama! Our boat yard has been in business since 1951 and the tradition of great service continues today. Our primary business is boat and yacht repair. Our boat yard offers convenience and the security of knowing your job will be done right, every time. Our full-time staff of skilled tradesmen are available to do it all.

Pass Christian Yacht Works is a full service facility for small and large boats up to 100 tons in weight. We are one of the few facilities able to service larger yachts and we are 20 minutes by boat to the Bay St. Louis Gridge/Gulf of Mexico. Our 19 acre facility began development in early 2015. Our facility came about because of the owner’s desire to provide the gulf coast with a much needed facility where we could meet the needs of boat owner’s and further develop the passion of those on the gulf coast for life on the water. Pass Christian Yacht Works is owned by local Pass Christian resident, Jimmy Strickland. Jimmy is on site on the property every day overseeing the operations and ensuring the satisfaction of our customers.

Whether you want the work to be hired out or prefer to do it yourself, our boatyard can accommodate your preferences. As previously mentioned, our facilities are equipped for almost any job that you choose to tackle. Our wet-blast system can be used for wet-etch bottom prep so you will not have to spend hours sanding before applying paint. We can also strip and prep your underwater running gear. Additionally, both top and bottom side paint stripping is available on aluminum, steel and fiberglass. If the project is out of your comfort zone, independent contractors are available to help with a variety of repairs including HVAC, paint, electronics, refits and more. Our fully serviced paved boatyard has everything you need for projects both large and small, plus industry experts on hand for the jobs that you do not want to attempt. Our professional staff is also available to pressure wash, block and haul out your vessel.
