Rentner marine is a small family business, which was started by our grandfather Paul E. Rentner II. and his brother Conrad In 1941. We offer a variety of services from fiberglass repair to a simple detail inside and out. Mechanical service is our specialty. We service nearly every marine engine or generator.

Skyway Yacht Works is located on the Calumet Ship Canal a little over a mile off of Lake Michigan on the southeast side of Chicago. With only 3 bridges to navigate, the trip to and from the yard is a snap. At 12 miles from Monroe and Dusable harbors, the trip can be made in an afternoon in a sailboat and about 40 minutes in a motorboat. With a private slip off the Calumet, your boat is protected from ship traffic and the Skyway Bridge makes an excellent landmark. We offer heated storage and outside storage. For sailboats, there is no reason to step your mast, since the bridges all open and they open on demand 24-7-365. We are a family operation and have been from the beginning. We are Yanmar dealers, Kohler generator dealers, Certified Pettit applicators, and have extensive experience in diesel engine systems and Mercruiser drive assemblies. Being a small yard, we can be and are very responsive to customer requests with little or no notice. We have the ability to stop, drop, and roll in the event of an emergency or urgent work requests, such as an upcoming regatta or family vacation.
