Captain John C. McDonough, Marine Surveyor
John McDonough has been surveying vessels professionally since 1995, and became Accredited with the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors in 1999, Member # 602. Prior to Surveying vessels John worked in Boat Yards from Kittery Maine, to Ft Lauderdale, Florida as a diesel repair technician. John held a 100Ton US Coast Guard Masters License for decades with a tow and sail endorsement, now retired. John has spent years on the water, delivering vessels from the Caribbean to the East Coast, Maine to Florida, South America to North Africa, and the Intercoastal waterway, wintering in the Bahamas for the past two years. This experience is very useful in helping you decide what type of vessel suits you for your intended purpose. Our survey recommendations are based upon US Coast Guard Regulations, National Fire Protection 302, Code of Federal Regulations 33CFR and Voluntary Standards of the American Boat and Yacht Council.

Dexter A. Holaday II Marine Surveyor
Dexter A. Holaday II, NAMS-CMS®, is a second-generation marine surveyor with offices in Rhode Island and Connecticut. He has an extensive marine repair and management background spanning 30 years in marinas and boat yards. He is a National Association of Marine Surveyors (NAMS®) certified marine surveyor. NAMS-CMS® 139-1063.
In 2015, Dexter took over his family’s business, founded in 1971 by his father Dexter A. Holaday, Sr. Dexter continues to bring that “mom-and-pop” authenticity and trust that earned his father extraordinary respect in the marine community.
His specialty is pre-purchase and re-insurance surveys that include value appraisals for a variety of fiberglass and wooden yachts. He also specializes in damage survey investigations for insurance underwriters, vessel owners, marinas and boat builders.

Owner Christopher Walsh is Certified by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), a graduate of the Chapman's School of Seamanship's Yacht and Small Craft Surveyor's Course, and holds a USCG 6-pax Captains License to operate uninspected passenger vessels.
While Even Keeled Marine waits SAMS® certification, EKM surveys are supervised and approved by Clifford Marine Surveys, certified SAMS® CMS as well as NAMS.

Robert Scanlan Marine Surveyor
Master Marine Surveyor - inspecting and surveying wood, fiberglass, steel, aluminum and ferrocement pleasure yachts, commercial passenger vessels and commercial fishing vessels. I conduct steel and aluminum hull ultra-sounding, corrosion and osmosis analysis, engine fluid spectrometric analysis, compression testing, marine consultation and a full set of computer diagnostics. Scott van Raalten
With over 30 years of boating experience and a background in gasoline and diesel mechanics Capt. Scott has the knowledge to give you an honest and transparent evaluation of a vessel. He is a licensed USCG Captain and has delivered vessels up and down the coast. He is a Master Marine Surveyor with USSA (United States Surveyors Association) Member #91120. He also holds certificates and certifications in Accident and Fraud Investigations from ABYC and USSA.
He has over 20 years of experience in law enforcement and has conducted hundreds of criminal investigations. Capt. Scott conducts in depth investigations of marine accidents, claims, and fraud. As a licensed attorney in Massachusetts and certified to practice in the First United States Federal District Court, Capt Scott carries a unique set of skills and experience in conducting investigations.
