A & J Boat Corp. was established in Marion in 1962. The Patten family purchased and rebuilt the business starting in 2004. Being a family owned and operated company, A & J Boat provides services beyond that of your typical boat yard.

For those of you curious about our origins, here is an overview of the company with a little history. A&J was established in Marion in 1962. Despite being a fully functional boat yard & a success in the community, it started to take a turn for the worse in the late 1990’s. In 2004, Richie Patten took on the daunting task of bringing back what the boating community had lost. Working through the abandoned boats, damaged buildings, & lack of customers, Richie managed to re-create the full-service yard of the 1960's that seemed to have been forgotten. Richie, his 2 sons, Richie Jr & Shawn, make up the dedicated team at A&J. Together they continue to build the business & grow despite an uncertain economy.

Barden’s Boat Yard is a full-service boatyard, with two facilities in Marion. Our main waterfront facility is located in picturesque Sippican Harbor. A full-service operation with a 35-ton travel-lift, crane service, boat transportation, wood & fiberglass repair along with the service & repair of power systems. Our inland facility is located at 35 Benson Brook Road. 10,000 square feet of inside, secured storage. Outside storage is also available at both locations. In the winter, we offer inside or outside storage for boats from 16’ to 60’. In the summer, we offer moorings, some dock space, fuel, and our rack service for powerboats up to 32’.
