Our Northeast Harbor yard is ideally situated for cruising boaters with access to many local restaurants, provisioning services, tennis courts, showers, laundry facilities, fuel, and pump-out services.

The Winter Harbor Yacht Club was founded in the 1890s along with the development of the Grindstone Neck summer community. The club is located in Downeast Maine across Frenchman Bay from Mount Desert Island and Bar Harbor. It is open from Fourth of July until Labor Day. The club is the center of social life on Grindstone Neck and offers members a wide variety of sailing and racing activities including Knockabout races, Bullseye races, and a Junior Sailing program. The WHYC member facilities include a snack bar, moorings, and a launch service. It is closely associated with the Grindstone Association (grindstoneassociation.com) where golf, tennis and swimming are available. Yachtsmen visiting the WHYC by boat are welcome. The nightly guest mooring fee includes use of the launch service and Snack Bar. Visiting yachtsmen may find detailed information on the harbor and can make a reservation for a mooring on the “Visiting Yachts” page. All members and guests must abide by the State of Maine Covid protocols before using any WHYC facilities.
