Mahopac Marina is a full service marina that is owned and operated since 1969 by the Melchner Family and located on beautiful Lake Mahopac in Putnam County New York. Here on the lake we provide boat slips, gas pumping and a full retail store. We also service our customers on all the surrounding lakes as well as the Hudson River and Long Island Sound. All repairs, service and storage is housed in our newly built maintenance shop and boat yard here in Mahopac.

Dave rummages through a marina junk pile and came home with an old outboard motor. Together with his father Bernie, they made a small workspace in the basement of the farmhouse.
1963
Gram gives the Mercury Motors rep milk and cookies, literally sweetening the deal. We've exclusively sold Mercury motors since.

Bernie and Dave sell the cows on their farm to focus on the marina.
1974
Dave takes over the lease at O’Hara’s Landing. That he same year, he meets his wife Mickey. He sells her gas for her boat. She never leaves.
More than 40 years ago, Mary, who still runs our restaurant and makes the best pancakes around, joined us at the marina. Barry began in the boathouse shortly after. Fred has built a part of every building on site. Collin, an award winning mechanic, started with us in 1994. They are all still with us. We consider our employees family.

We are local and lake residents that have been a part of the Highland Lake community for over 40 years. Our crew is dedicated to making your boating lifestyle as fun and easy as possible. Being watersport enthusiasts ourselves, our marine and watersports store can outfit you with all your boating needs and watersport accessories. We can assist with all aspects of your time on and near the water. This includes all boat services, Shoremaster dock and boat lift needs, and even local vacation rentals on Highland Lake.
