Lee H. Ehrheart has 35-plus years experience as a master shipwright throughout the world. He has served the Seattle, Northwest, California, and Oregon area as a marine surveyor for the last 25-plus years, specializing in older, larger wooden boats.
For the past eight years, he has been the director of the Havorn Marine Survey and Shipwright School. The school offers programs in Marine Surveying, Inspection, Maintenance, Repair, and special workshops for the yachtsman.
Lee is a Staff Instructor in Marine Survey to the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding, the Center for Wooden Boats, and the University of Washington Sea Grant Programs.
Lee has experience as an ocean sailor, having owned the 48' Colin Archer Norwegian ketch, Havorn, since 1965, and sailed her to the United States from Norway via the Panama Canal. Lee then spent six years working in a commercial boatyard in San Diego, California. He then sailed on to Polynesia, New Zealand, and Hawaii, to mention just a few ports of call. He has the sea time in his skivvies to truly understand the demands on these ocean-going vessels.
