Mitch Witt Marine Surveyor

I imagine that the survey process can be intimidating for people looking to buy a boat across the country. Thankfully, it was not that way for me and my wife. Prior to selecting you, I spoke with a few other surveyors. I am really happy that we decided to work with you. What stands out to me the most about the survey process was your knowledge, thoroughness, and ability to educate. I have owned and operated boats for over 15 years and studied up as much as I could on the boat we were looking to buy. Through the survey process, you took extra time to point things out to us and make sure we were fully educated. We learned a lot through the process and really appreciated the knowledge you shared. Another thing we really appreciated was your follow up after the survey to make sure all of the items you noted as needing attention were repaired prior to our acceptance. We were looking at a late 1990s motor cruiser, this surveyor found a number of electrical problems with batteries, bilge pumps as well as the fuel systems. One engine began to overheat during operation, surveyor found a loose belt - after tightening the engine ran cool.

Found this Surveyor by accident, turned out to be really fortunate. He helped organize the day's timeline allowing time to reach the haul out for bottom inspection and then the sea trial. Finishing up back at the dock we found some stray current traced to the water heater. That was confirmed by the anodes being over 50% gone during haul out. The report was lengthy and thorough. Good value ! I give 4.5 stars which I consider very high rating.
