Captain Gary Bachmann has over 25 years experience fishing Lake Cumberland for Stripers. He is a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer and a Kentucky licensed hunting and fishing guide for 18 years now.

Specializing in trophy striper fishing, your day is planned well in advance, and all bait (typically shad) is caught before your arrival. Your Captain prepares for your day as if he's fishing for himself with the ultimate goal in mind to land the new Lake Cumberland and State record Striper!!! Great care is taken to keep all bait alive and healthy. All rods and reels are routinely maintained using high quality fluorocarbon P-Line & Seaguar leads. Trolling is usually the preferred method by electric trolling motor, (NO down-riggers), however, certain times of the year may call for other methods. Everything is set up by your captain, then it's up to you when a rod goes down! Several medium-heavy casting rods are at hand in the case of schooling stripers hitting shad at the surface, or for bouncing artificial while down-rodding live bait. Bottom fishing proves effective early season and often produces walleye, smallmouth and catfish as well as stripers. Your captain communicates and works with other guides constantly to help aid in the quest for trophy stripers.
