iDetail NC LLC

I recently used a vendor to repair a gelcoat scratch on my boat and used this site. I received two vendors. I ended up choosing iDetail LLC. I contacted the owner (Branden) who requested I pay him the deposit of $120 to his Venmo account. I did and he responded to do the repair on 5/30/25. The repair process wasn't what I expected or used to as I had previous gelcoat work done on other boats. He filled in the scratch; but the scratch was black in color and not the gray color of the hull. He said the gelcoat will turn to the hull color once it is exposed to the UV rays for a couple weeks. Well, I never experienced gelcoat repair work taking going through this process. Branden wanted me to pay him the remainder of the work he quoted before I was satisifed and told me he would return to repair if the repair didn't blend in to the hull gray color. After two weeks and the repair of the scratch still black in color and never blending; I tried contacting him and it took a week or so for him to reply back. He requested the Hull VIN to order the gelcoat color (Why wasn't the proper gelcoat color used in the first place?). I waited his 10 day time frame and contacted him back only never to receive a return text until I threaten to consider legal actions. He still hasn't cotacted me to complete the repair. I contacted Boatplanet and was informed that the vendor should not of requested me to pay them and that I should of used their site to submit my payments and I would of been protected from iDetails LLC incompetent and poor quality workmanship. Don't use iDetail for any gelcoat work.
