Our task was to assist with the removal and reinstallation of the propulsion unit on a commercial barge that transports cargo to undeveloped shorelines. The barge had a failure in the hydraulic lift mechanism responsible for raising the propeller assembly in shallow-water operations. Because of this breakdown, the entire unit had to be taken off. To complete the job, we used a high-capacity crane, a coordinated team of commercial divers, and full permission from the port authorities. The operation took place on the Miami River, Florida.
