Broke and hungry, the winter of 1982 Al Drewett opened Toledo Fiberglass. In over his head, he quickly had to figure out how to remove and replace a transom on a bass boat in an empty lot under a power pole. It was a success. Over the next few months Al was Blessed with enough work to rent a small place off of Pilcher Rd. on the lake. Six months later and a loan from Sabine State bank for ten Thousand dollars, Toledo Fiberglass was built on Hwy 6 near Pendleton Assembly of God Church. By August of 1983 our new shop was open and we began working and slowly but surely we began to earn a reputation for quality workmanship. Most of our repairs at this time were the result of accidents on Toledo Bend.
