White’s Marine Center has evolved and grown from humble beginnings at the Glendo Marina in 1970, when Bill and Charlotte White purchased it. Bill and Charlotte moved their family from the suburbs of Chicago to the little town of Glendo, with a population of only 300 people. The whole family was involved in operating the marina. Sons Craig and Thad worked on the gas dock, rented boats and hauled trash to the dump. Daughter Kyra started out helping in the café. All three grew up in the business.
